Stop Requested pt. 2 (graphite pencil)

This another drawing of someone on the bus. Once again this guy had no idea I was drawing him and I had no idea when he was going to get off. That said - the focus was speed, likeness and shading. I was really pleased with this one because it really looks photographically like the guy.

Stop Requested (graphite pencil)

This is a drawing of a lady on the metro bus (public transit). It took about 13-15 mins. I had fun with this one. The biggest challenge was to avoid mistakes because of the rough ride. It seemed the bus had no shocks as I penciled away at this life study. My focus here was to establish realism, volume and to do it all fast - because I had now idea when this lady was going to get off the bus. I eventually showed her the drawing at the end a got a yummy smile from her. HOO HOOOO!

It's The BigGIrl' (graphite pencil)

I decided this week to start back drawing with pencil. The change is tremendous. I have been drawing with pen for some months now (as directed by my master John Mahoney). This is a sketch of a little girl that was watching television. I started out with the line then went into the shading. My main focus was to establish realism in a short time period - this took about 15 minutes.
